Bio
I am a Singaporean artist-filmmaker currently based in London.
Working with moving images, photography and performance, my practice draws on the uncanny clarity found in processes of fetishisation, confabulation and meditation. In the same tangent, my approach to art-making stems from mistranslations across contexts, genres and cultures. Through these playful experimentations of reality and form, I am interested in exploring the political economy of desire and how that is embodied in contemporary societies.
I am currently a Kone Foundation grant awardee, and was previously a finalist for the Dazed x Circa Class of 2021 award and a Tour de Moon film grant winner. For the last two years, I have been a guest programmer for Queer East, curating for their Expanded section.
Along with Juliusz Grabianski, I am co-curator of Kawaii Agency. My work has been featured on SHOWstudio, the Wrong Biennale, Female, Financial Times, Service95, It’s Nice That, and Dazed.
